A Great Half Term!
What a fantastic first half a term we have had in Year 1!
The children had great fun discovering the mystery animal in our den, which turned out to be a badger! They enjoyed exploring the different characteristics of a badger, it’s habitat and diet. In design technology, the children loved making their vegetable kebabs and some children even liked the new vegetables they tried!
In English, we have recently explored our senses and written poems relating to these. We wrote ‘I Love Food’ poems using adjectives to describe all the yummy food we eat.
I love delicious pizza.
I love crunchy bread.
I love gooey ice-cream.
I love food.
As part of our maths learning, we have been counting in twos up to 20 and using this to help count sets of objects. We have continued to practice the writing of our numbers to make sure they are the correct way around!
The children have settled well into Year 1 and have worked hard this term in their learning. We hope they all have an enjoyable week and rest and we look forward to seeing you all next week, ready for our new topic.
