Year 5 are settling back into the routines and making a good start to the new year. Mrs Arrol and Mrs Stone have enjoyed getting to know Year 5.
We have already started to immerse ourselves in our Glorious Greeks topics and are developing an understanding of how lots of aspects of Ancient Greece can still be seen in our society today.
Across this half term we are focusing on E-safety, as well as having an E-safety Day on Monday. The children have lots to share in relation to this. It is really important to talk to your child about what they are learning in school about E-safety and reinforce this message at home.
As mentioned in your whole school newsletter, our homework policy has been reviewed. In light of this, Year 5 now have an English/SPaG homework set on a Wednesday and due in on the following Wednesday. This is in addition to the usual maths homework, which will remain on a Friday. Each homework task should take the children around 20 minutes to complete. My Maths will continue to be set fortnightly and the children who complete this will receive an additional achievement point for their effort.
