Action required and important dates!

You will be notified by Hampshire Admissions Team if you’ve been given a place at St Mark’s. To confirm your acceptance of the place, see the details below.

  1. You must do these 2 actions by 30th April to confirm your place:
    1. Complete our information collection form here by Thursday 30th April 2026. This is for our own records.
    2. Send us with evidence of the address provided on your application and your child’s date of birth. To do so, email a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport (for ID) and recent utility bill/council tax etc (for the address) to d.collins@st-markscofe.hants.sch.uk (a photo from your phone is fine). Alternatively, you can bring them in to the office.
  2. Add 7pm Tuesday 2nd June 2026 in your diary – this is for a meeting at St Mark’s for all new parents to share information about the various transition events before the summer, and what the beginning of September looks like. For parents only please – no children. If you are unable to make it, we will have slides and audio recordings available – although it’s obviously preferable to be there in person.
  3. Please join us for the St Mark’s FOSM PTA Summer Fair – Saturday 27th June 12pm-3:30pm. A great way for your child to get to know St Mark’s!
  4. Want to know how you can really help your child to have the best start to school? Check this site out! We really recommend it.
  5. Finally, if your child isn’t potty trained, we recommend this site for help.

Friday 23rd May 2025

  • The day starts with KS2 (Yrs 3-6) at 9.15am. KS2 parents/grandparents are invited to watch. KS1 children have normal lessons in the morning.

  • Then there is a whole school picnic lunch (including parents) between 12.00pm – 12.35pm. No alcohol with your picnic please (yes, that’s happened before!).

  • KS1 (Yrs R-2) sports day will start at 1.00pm – we will be finished by the end of the school day. Again KS1 parents/grandparents are invited to stay and watch.

  • The KS1 and KS2 gates will be open during the start/finish times and over lunch. At other times, access to the school is through the office.

  • For each KS1/KS2 session, the children take part in a circuit of activities; afterwards, more traditional running races take place. 

  • There will be no parking available at the Community Centre or in the school car park.

  • On the day the children should all come to school dressed in their sports kit, wearing the coloured t-shirt for their team, without big logos if possible. Let us know if your child is uncertain of their team colour. They should also bring a named water bottle.

  • Once KS2 children have finished their sports day (around 12pm), they will return to their classes to be registered, go to the toilet and to collect their packed lunch if necessary. It might be wise for one parent to go and collect them from classes for the picnic. After the picnic, the children return to classes for the afternoon.

  • Once KS1 children have finished their sports day around 3pm, they will need to return to their classes to be registered and to collect their home bits. Please collect their from classroom doors as normal.

  • Children with Allergies – if your child has allergies, and will require a special diet, please read the information below.
  • Have you completed this home visits preference questionnaire yet?
  • Why not book a Farm Slot to look after our chickens (and probably rabbits and guinea pigs). Click here for more info. When you sign up, just say that you are a new parent and we can verify it on our system!

Alergies!

Our wonderful caterers, Pabulum, are happy to provide a special menu for your child if they have food allergies. If this is the case, please complete a hard copy of this form (including a signature from your doctor). Pabulum will also need a signed letter from the GP or dietician as medical evidence of the allergy to avoid a delay in your application. Unfortunately, only allergies can be accommodated with a special menu, not food preferences or intolerances. All Pabulum standard menus are detailed on our website with the allergens listed, so it is simple to see those that contain the major allergens.
