Year 4 – Thursday 9th April

Good Morning Year 4

I hope that you are all well and have been enjoying some of the Easter activities that we have provided for you. It is strange not seeing you and I am looking forward to organising our Zoom meet up after the Easter holidays. It has been a strange few weeks and meeting up with people through the power of video link seems to have become the new normal – I have met up with friends and even been to my choir through Zoom!

I have enjoyed going out for walks around Winchester and along the river; it has been so lovely to see all of the wildlife. I saw a pair of goldfinches on one of my walks, I think they are my favourite bird, you often see them in pairs. I have also been reading lots of books, it is such a good way to relax but I am always sad when the story comes to an end.

Today is Maundy Thursday which marks the beginning of the Easter weekend. Maundy Thursday marks the day that Jesus and his disciples met for the Last Supper, when Jesus washed his disciple’s feet and then broke bread and shared the wine in the first act of Holy Communion.

This Easter weekend will be a strange one, very different to any other Easter weekend. It might be a good opportunity to share the Easter story as a family, this is an interesting retelling using a single sheet of paper. The Easter Story

I heard about people locally to me creating their own Easter egg hunt, by decorating a picture of an egg and putting it in their windows, rather like the rainbows and teddy bears we are seeing so many of, I am making crochet Easter egg bunting to put up in my window.

Wishing all of you a Happy Easter weekend.

From Miss Hardy
