School Council (Years 1-6)
This is made up of 1 member from each class. They discuss various ways to improve our school, and how to spend money that we raise for good causes. The School Council demonstrates democracy in action- and real voting booths are used to give it an authentic experience!
Eco-Team (Years 1-6)
This group of pupils make sure our school is being fair to our environment. They help us to understand the impact of recycling and saving electricity, and help us to appreciate the beautiful world we live in- and how to keep it that way!
Christian Voice Ambassadors (Years 1-6)
These pupils examine the way that our school teaches and promotes RE and our Christian ethos. They help us to make sure we do our very best in helping others understand and think through the big questions of life and also about the different beliefs in our world.
Wellbeing Champions (Years 2-6)
How can we keep our minds and body healthy? Our wellbeing champions will help us to remember! They help us learn about the five ways to wellbeing – Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.
JRSOs (Years 4-6)
Our Junior Road Safety Officers helps our whole community to think carefully about what it means to stay safe on our roads.
Librarians (Year 5)
Promoting reading and keeping our libraries in tip-top shape, our librarians are a key part of our school.
OPAL Play Team (Years 1-6)
The OPAL Play Team are pupil leaders who help make our playtimes fun, inclusive and run smoothly for everyone. They will share ideas, lead assemblies, communicate with others and help make things happen by working with adults and the wider school community.
Kindness Team (Years 4-6)
he Kindness Team help to make lunchtimes welcoming, calm and enjoyable for everyone. They support children who would like a quieter space or something to do by helping with activities, games and friendly conversation, making sure everyone has someone and somewhere they can feel comfortable.
Online Safety Team (Years 3-6)
The Online Safety Team help children across St Mark’s learn how to stay safe, kind and responsible when using technology and the internet. They will share important online safety messages, help lead assemblies and activities, and encourage everyone to make positive choices online.
School Newspaper (Year 6)
The School Newspaper team will work together to find out what is happening across St Mark’s and share the stories that make our school special. They will create a termly newsletter for children, families and the wider school community, developing their skills in writing, interviewing and reporting.
KS1 Choir
The KS1 Choir learn and practise songs together, building confidence and having fun through music. They will have the opportunity to perform what they have learnt to parents and the wider school community in small concerts.
KS2 Choir
The KS2 Choir learn and practise songs together, developing confidence, teamwork and a love of singing. They will perform to parents and the wider school community at small concerts, our Christmas concerts and the BPSM event.
Orchestra
The Orchestra bring together musicians from across the school to rehearse, develop their skills and enjoy making music together. They will perform to parents and the wider school community at concerts and special school events throughout the year.
