Year 1 – Tuesday 14th April

Good Morning Year 1

Dear parents and children, blank

We hope you enjoyed the Easter weekend and are safe and well. It is so lovely seeing everything you are doing over email. We have really enjoyed seeing all of your fantastic Easter activities so far. As this is the second week of the Easter holidays, we will not be sending out school work to do this week, however you may wish to continue the optional ongoing activities listed below. We have some more exciting Easter activities for you this week. You do not have to complete any of these activities – they are just ideas to keep you busy should you wish to use them.

You can still send your silly reader photos to us over email. The ones we have received so far are super silly!

Miss Hall would like to read you another story! You can find this in the video resources section of this post along with other videos read by Year 1 teachers. The password is the same as previously.

Happy Easter!

Year 1 Team

Share your work!

blankWe’d love to share a piece of artwork your child has done. It can be of anything – a rainbow for the NHS, a piece of home learning, a poster, a drawing, a painting, a design, anything! Just make sure you only send in a photo of the work, not the child or anything on the photo that may identify them (e.g. full name). Simply email it to posters@stmarksce.org.uk and we’ll do the rest! We’ll make a video montage of it, and share it on our website. We would love to have as many entries as possible. Closing date is Sunday 19th April!

Helpful Reminders

We are still checking our emails regularly and have loved seeing what you are doing. Feel free to email us if you have a question or just want to say hello at: year1@stmarksce.org.uk

You can access our general resources to support your child at home here: Y1 General Resources

Please do not feel like you have to complete all of the activities provided in one day. We have given a variety so that there are options for you to choose what works best for you at home.

blankRead Write Inc are kindly doing live daily phonics sessions, although they may have stopped this over the Easter holidays. They are at certain times depending on which sounds you would like to practise. We suggest either Set 2 or Set 3 sounds. Find the link here: RWI Phonics

If you are running out of reading material, you can try Oxford Owl.You need to make a free parent account but it gives to access to some Oxford Reading Tree e-books that we use at school. Make sure you are reading a book that is at your child’s band. If they are finding this band too easy, you could try a songbird book from the band above.

Alternatively, you can find free Big Cat ebooks by following the steps linked here: Big Cat ebooks.
