Year 1 – Collage

This half term we are using the theme of Toys as a starting point for making our own collages.

In our first lesson we learnt that collages are pieces of artwork made by sticking different materials onto a surface to make a picture or pattern.

As an introductory activity, we read the story “Little Robots” by Mike Brownlow. The illustrations are full of robots with different features.

For our first learning task we selected pictures of robots, cut them up, and rearranged them to create our own unique robot collages.
