Christmas at St Mark’s

We love Christmas at St Mark’s! The children will be performing, singing, and supporting our Christmas productions, and we’d love you to join us.

Following feedback from teachers and families we have taken the decision to reduce the number of performances as the children are already very tired at the end of a very long term.

Each child will be allocated 2 tickets which can be used for one performance or across the two performances.

This year, we are using Eventbrite to allocate the tickets to you and there is a link to these booking pages below.

For KS2 children, it is expected that your child is at the evening performance.

Special Notice for KS2 Choir Members:

Our KS2 Choir (those who attend the afterschool club with Mrs Baird and Mrs Chapman) have an integral role in the carol concerts and are due to perform at all 4 concerts regardless of which year group they are in. The dates for these are as follows:

  • Monday 15th December 2pm Y3/4
  • Monday 15th December 6pm Y5/6
  • Tuesday 16th December 2pm Y5/6
  • Tuesday 16th December 6pm Y3/4

For these concerts to be successful we hope that all choir members are able to attend both evening performances.   You will still however, only be allocated 2 tickets. Parents are not expected to be at every performance and the children will be told this.

Children in choir will be wearing ties to perform in so they will need to wear a collared white shirt rather than their regular polo shirt. We will issue ties at the start of the each performance.

Christmas Dates:

Friday 28th November – Year R ONLY Tombola Non School Uniform Day

On this day, Year R children are invited to wear non school uniform in exchange for bringing in an item for the Christmas Fayre Tombola.  FOSM will be sending information about this soon.

Year R are having their non uniform day separately, as they have their Nativity performance on the 5th and it would just be too much with Christmas costumes and non uniform all on the same day!

Friday 5th December – Years 1 to 6 ONLY Tombola Non School Uniform Day

On this day, children in Years 1 to 6 are invited to wear non school uniform in exchange for bringing in an item for the Christmas Fayre Tombola.  FOSM will be sending information about this soon.

Saturday 6th December – St Mark’s Christmas Fayre

It’s the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 6th December, 12-3pm. Full of fun games, stalls, activities, refreshments and Santa’s Grotto! The fayre is free to enter and visits to Santa cost £4.50 per child and include a small gift.

Monday 15th December – Christmas Postbox Opens

As we approach Christmas, if your child would like to send Christmas cards to other children they may bring them in via their classroom from Monday 15th December.  These can then be placed into the school Christmas post box ready to be delivered. Cards should have the recipient’s NAME and CLASS on them.

Wednesday 17th December – KS2 Musical Spectacular

On this day, some of our musicians in KS2 will present a special musical concert called the Christmas Musical Spectacular!  This is an internal performance for KS2 children only. Miss Stonehouse will be organising this and will be in touch soon with more information.
