Year 6 – Wednesday 18th March

Good morning to our lovely Year 6 children who are unable to attend school today!

We hope you have enjoyed a little bit of a lay in and eaten breakfast ready to make the most of your day.

As the post with yesterday’s learning wasn’t uploaded until much later in the afternoon, we did not expect you to complete all or even any of it last night! Therefore, you will have today to complete the work set yesterday.

As well as that, we are adding on a spelling & handwriting activity. We would like you to practise your formation of joining the letter ‘r’. Please remember, as shown in the beautiful example below, the ‘r’ joins at the ‘mid-bridge’, meaning it does NOT lead down to the base line to join on to the next letter. For each of the following words, practise a line in your most beautiful handwriting, and then you can choose a few words to create a spelling pyramid or spiral!

If you are proud of your work and your parents are able to email us a photo to year6@stmarksce.org.uk we would love to see it!

Maya Masks

Today in school, we are beginning to make our Maya masks. If you have any materials at home to be able to do this (card, newspaper etc), then please feel free to create yours too. However, we completely understand this may not be possible for most. Maybe you can use your creativity in other ways to make something else Maya, or non-Maya related!

Homework

We will still be setting weekly homework for SPaG and Maths. For this week’s SPaG homework, complete pages 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the Punctuation Book.

If you have your CGP books at home, please complete the homework directly in them. Otherwise, use the scanned sheets below – print them if you can, but this is not essential. You can complete the answers on a separate piece of paper.
