Year 5 – Friday 3rd April
Good Morning Year 5
We hope you are well this Friday morning, its our last day of learning before the ‘Easter Holidays’. We know that the Easter Holidays are going to be very different to usual this year, so we are going to provide some Easter activities for you to have a go at each Monday of the holidays, but they are purely ideas. You can choose any that you may want to do, but if you don’t want to then you don’t have to.
Don’t forget that today at 11am 5GP will be having their Zoom class catch up and at 3pm 5T will be having their Zoom class catch up. Ask your parents to check their emails regarding how to join, remember 5F will be having theirs soon.
Today is an important day!!! We are in a TT Rockstars battle against Year 4! Between 9am and 3pm today, we are going to be in competition with Year 4 to see who can get the most right answers . We need to go online and play as much as we can throughout today to beat Year 4!! We will let you know who wins on Monday. Come on Year 5 – WE WILL WIN!!
Another well done to all of you for your Millions stories. All 4 teachers are incredibly impressed by what you have written and we are all extremely proud of all of you. Please keep sending them in for us to read if you haven’t already.

Please get your grown up’s permission before you email us. We look forward to hearing from you. We may not reply the same day!
Presentation – Please remember to do your very best work. Handwriting and presentation are as important at home as they are in school. You can complete your work in a book or if you need lined or squared paper you can get it here.
Note for parents: Hopefully your children will enjoy working through these activities and can do independently. We completely understand it may be difficult to complete all these tasks due to other family commitments or you are working from home, so please do not worry; complete what you can with your child.
Daily Activities
Today you jobs are Maths, English/Art and Science.
- TTRockstars – Miss T won’t be online at 3pm tomorrow as she is going to be having a Zoom meeting with her class.
- Numbots – Use your TT rockstars login and work through the easier levels to get to the trickier ones
- Spelling Shed – Practise your spellings and email us if you need your login
- Reading – Read for at least 20 mins and write in your reading log.
- Spellings – Look, say, cover, write and check.
Maths

English/Art
We have been so impressed with your Millions stories, you all worked extremely hard and your stories are fantastic.
So today, we are going to give you the chance to design your own front cover for your story.
Front covers show the main parts of the story and the main characters. Think carefully about your story and what you could use from it to put on your front cover.
Miss T has done an example front cover for you, unfortunately she didn’t have any coloured pens or pencils, so hopefully yours will be a lot more colourful than hers.
Once you have finished them, please send us a copy. We love seeing your work!!!
Science
Today we are going to finish our learning on Forces. We are going to learn about levers, gears and pulleys.
