FOSM Summer Fair!

Thank you so much to the FOSM team for another excellent summer fair, and for your generosity on the day. We raised an amazing £4,138, which will be ploughed back into opportunities for the children!

End of year activities!

As we approach the end of the school year….

  1. On Monday or Tuesday, please send in a named, strong, bag-for-life type bag for us to send home your children’s school work.
  2. Please return all school reading materials: library books, Read Write Inc reading books and sharing books.
  3. Please check the Lost Property boxes outside the main hall.  Anything left at the end of the day on Tuesday will be donated to charity or recycled.
  4. On Tuesday we send out a letter about staffing arrangements for September.
  5. On Wednesday, children learn about their new class and teacher, and spend time together during the morning. We try to keep this low key!
  6. On Wednesday, End of Year school reports are emailed out after school.

Non-Uniform on Friday 18th July – Culture day!

  • Friday 18th July – Women’s EUFA Culture Day! Come dressed in colours of your child’s country for the Euros as we learn more about the culture of the country:
  • Year R – Spain           Year 1 – Switzerland
  • Year 2 – England and France
  • Year 3 – Norway        Year 4 – Wales
  • Year 5 – Poland          Year 6 – Denmark
  • The Bridge – Germany (or year group country if in class)

Last chance! Papaya Webinars – Let’s talk about our children’s tech (including smartphones)

Fruit and Veg Snacks

We have been informed that there will be no snack deliveries for the last two days of term.  Please send in a piece of fruit or a vegetable snack for the last Monday and Tuesday. Thank you.

Uniform Expansion Update – Reminder!

  • Thanks for all of your support in our additional options. The navy blue option has gone down well.
  • Regarding trainers, we’ve clarified this on our uniform page. We would prefer black/dark trainers, but appreciate that they aren’t always easy to find, so can be flexible. We wouldn’t want you to purchase anything new, either.

OPAL Resources – Can you help?

Thank you for all of your donations so far. We are continuing to develop our OPAL playtimes and we are looking for some urgent donations to top up some of our playtime supplies.
We would like:
  • scooters and safety helmets
  • Barbies/dolls
  • old saucepans/frying pans/ spoons
  • small soft balls
  • buckets, spades & trowels.
If you have anything that you are able to donate, please drop it in one of the buckets on the playground side of the office or hand them to a member of staff at drop off or pick up. Thank you. 🙂

Wildlife Conservation Area – Help needed!

We are developing a conservation woodland area at Forest School to help encourage wildlife onto the site.  Before we can make it available for children to use, it needs some work to clear the dead wood to encourage fresh growth.

The work will take place on Saturday 6th September 10am-12pm. This will be for adults only, no children please.  If you would like to volunteer, please complete the Google Form here.

Thank you so much.

Foodbank Support for the Summer Holidays

Basingstoke Foodbank are able to support families that may struggle to make ends meet over the summer holidays. Please get in touch with Vicky Elms in confidence (v.elms@st-markscofe.hants.sch.uk) and we will be able to refer for help with vouchers of food, essential toiletries, clothes washing products and some cleaning products. This support will last throughout the holidays-the foodbank will be in touch every fortnight to let families know a voucher has been uploaded on the system. Families are able to bring a friend with them to help with transport or to help carry their items home.
