Safeguarding Update June 2025

What’s a SAR?

This is Subject Access Request. A parent could request everything we have on any of our systems that is about their child, possibly including CPOMs. This is another reason why you need to be factual, and knowing that parents may read everything you write.

If you work with EYFS children (Year R, Breakfast Club)…

If children are eating, there must always be someone present with a valid paediatric first aid certificate. Something to consider ….what about children with SEND who may eat separately?

True/False?

Only the DSLs need to know how to respond to concerns about sexual harassment or violence between children.

Answer: False
Explanation: KCSIE 2025 states that all staff should be able to recognise and respond to child-on-child abuse, including sexual harassment and violence.
