Year 6 – Thursday 25th March

Good Morning Year 6!

We hope you slept well and have had breakfast ready for another day of learning. Just a quick reminder that your learning shouldn’t take you much longer than 2-2.5 hours.

Don’t forget – start your day with ‘P.E WITH JOE’ (Joe Wicks, The Body Coach). Live at 9am every day this week on his youtube channel -https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1/featured

Have a wonderful day!

Mrs Silvester, Miss Pettitt and Mrs Chapman

We completely understand it may be difficult to complete all these tasks due to other family commitments or you are working from home, so please do not worry; complete what you can with your child.

SATs Challenges – Mixed measure questions

English

If you haven’t finished your story, don’t panic! Come back to this powerpoint once you have.

For most of you, you’re now ready to edit before possibly publishing your work. Please follow the powerpoint below. It is so important you follow the instructions. This means reading your stories through four times: each time you read it through, there is a different editing focus.

You can then decide to publish it on a word document and email it to us, publish it by hand and send us a photo, or just send us a photo of your edited copy if you choose not to publish.

We are beyond excited to see what you have produced!

10 minute test & PE

Complete the next CGP 10 minute READING test carefully in your CGP books. You can then mark it using the answers at the back of the book. If you don’t have it, you’ll need to read for 20 minutes instead.

Once you have finished, spend at least half an hour doing your favourite physical activity. Maybe set yourself a challenge… what’s the most ‘Keepy Uppies’ with the football can you do? How long can you hula-hoop for? If you’re stuck for ideas, visit these websites to just take part in some fun dances…

Year 5 – Thursday 26th March

Good Morning Year 5!

We hope you are well and have been enjoying the beautiful weather this week. Miss T managed an hour and 10 minutes walk yesterday (and now has blisters). Did anyone else manage a walk?

We have heard from Maddie about another amazing resource that we wanted to share with everyone. Every morning at 11am, David Walliams is uploading an audio recording of himself reading a short story from his World’s Worst Children book, which is available to listen to for free. So if you fancy listening, they will be available from 11am each day at https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/.

I hope you are still enjoying the Joe Wicks workouts, Miss T had a go at one of his 20 minute work outs yesterday and struggled, so well done for those of you who manage the whole half an hour, you must be knackered.

Hope you have a good day and continue to stay positive and smiley.

Maths – Rounding

Remember your rounding rules from school.  Look at the digit next door to the one you are round to.  0-4 stay on the floor; 5 through 9 climb the vine!  Here is a bitesize link for extra information https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zh8dmp3/articles/zpx2qty

Here is a link to the questions https://jarauid.exampro.net/ or alternatively you can download below.

English –  Rollercoasters

Today, we would like you to think more about rollercoasters than fairground rides.  Take a look at today’s English task below.  If you don’t have access to a printer, you can make notes in anyway you would like to or draw a grid similar to the one on the task.

Topic –  Fairground Food

One of the most important things about a fairground is being able to have something to eat  You might have some popcorn, some candy floss or a toffee apple.  I suspect most of you don’t have the ingredients to make these things but your challenge is to bake some biscuits which may or may not have a fairground theme!  Here is a recipe you can use as basic biscuit recipe but feel free to add different flavours to it depending what you have in the cupboard.

Year 3 – Thursday 26th March

Good Morning Year 3

Wasn’t it lovely seeing the sunshine again yesterday, we do hope you managed to get some fresh air in your garden. Miss Barnett has been enjoying PE with Jo in the mornings and we can see lots of you have from the photos you are sending us. One more day till our battle with Year 4, keep going – it’s lovely to see so many of you playing TTRock Stars!

We are sure you are keeping busy but if you run out of things to do and would like some more ideas, we have lots of websites that have been checked by all the teachers on our website here. Do take a look and let us know how you get on.  Also, if anyone is feeling a little unsure about everything at the moment, there is a super story Dave the Dog, which you can read with a grown up and it will hopefully help you understand and feel reassured about the current advice.
